MAPT and PAICE: Tools for time series and single time point transcriptionist visualization and knowledge discovery

چکیده
UNLABELLED With the advent of next-generation sequencing, -omics fields such as transcriptomics have experienced increases in data throughput on the order of magnitudes. In terms of analyzing and visually representing these huge datasets, an intuitive and computationally tractable approach is to map quantified transcript expression onto biochemical pathways while employing datamining and visualization principles to accelerate knowledge discovery. We present two cross-platform tools: MAPT (Mapping and Analysis of Pathways through Time) and PAICE (Pathway Analysis and Integrated Coloring of Experiments), an easy to use analysis suite to facilitate time series and single time point transcriptomics analysis. In unison, MAPT and PAICE serve as a visual workbench for transcriptomics knowledge discovery, data-mining and functional annotation. Both PAICE and MAPT are two distinct but yet inextricably linked tools. The former is specifically designed to map EC accessions onto KEGG pathways while handling multiple gene copies, detection-call analysis, as well as UN/annotated EC accessions lacking quantifiable expression. The latter tool integrates PAICE datasets to drive visualization, annotation, and data-mining. Ontology is a requirement engineering product and the key to knowledge discovery. It includes the terminology to describe a set of facts, assumptions, and relations with which the detailed meanings of vocabularies among communities can be determined. This is a qualitative content analysis research. This study has made use of ontology for the first time to discover the knowledge of vaccine in Ir...

متن کاملDetermining the Critical Intensity for Crack Initiation in Concrete Arch Dams by Endurance Time Method
This study aims at determining the critical seismic intensity at which cracks are expected to develop in a concrete arch dam. This intensity is referred to as crack initiation intensity. The crack initiation intensity measure implies that earthquakes with the intensity measure higher than this value are expected to induce cracks in the arch dam. This quantity is an indicator for seismic evaluat...
متن کاملFinite Sample Properties of Quantile Interrupted Time Series Analysis: A Simulation Study
Interrupted Time Series (ITS) analysis represents a powerful quasi-experime-ntal design in which a discontinuity is enforced at a specific intervention point in a time series, and separate regression functions are fitted before and after the intervention point. Segmented linear/quantile regression can be used in ITS designs to isolate intervention effects by estimating the sudden/level change (...
متن کاملEnsemble Kernel Learning Model for Prediction of Time Series Based on the Support Vector Regression and Meta Heuristic Search
In this paper, a method for predicting time series is presented. Time series prediction is a process which predicted future system values based on information obtained from past and present data points. Time series prediction models are widely used in various fields of engineering, economics, etc. The main purpose of using different models for time series prediction is to make the forecast with...
